Tourism opportunities of Azerbaijan promoted in India

Representatives from Azerbaijan's tourism industry, organized by the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, are participating in the SATTE exhibition held in New Delhi, India.
 
At the exhibition, the Azerbaijani national stand is represented by 19 local tourism industry representatives, alongside Shahdag Mountain Resort.
 
During the event, Indian tourism industry professionals are provided with comprehensive information about Azerbaijan's tourism products, including its cultural heritage, national cuisine, mountain-ski centers, wine tourism, health tourism, ecotourism opportunities, and winter tourism. Additionally, Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings are presented to Indian industry specialists in film and wedding organization.
 
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to India, Elchin Huseynli, also visited the national stand.
 
Florian Zengstschmid, CEO of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, participated in a panel discussion organized by the Asia-Pacific Tourism Association (PATA). The discussion focused on the global tourism sector’s current situation, emerging tourism trends, and the increasing demand for travel, which is driving a rise in hotel construction.
 
Furthermore, during the visit, an event was held in New Delhi to promote Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities and foster connections between local tourism companies, hotels, and their Indian counterparts. The event was attended by 49 tourism companies and 11 media representatives, along with the Indian airline IndiGo.
 
It is worth noting that in January 2024, the number of Indian visitors to Azerbaijan reached 10,135, reflecting a 147% increase compared to January of the previous year.
